FAQ
Does Notice My Landlord provide legal advice?
No. We provide document preparation. The documents we generate should be reviewed by a qualified attorney before use. Using Notice My Landlord does not create an attorney-client relationship.
Will my landlord be required to accept the termination?
The termination is a legal NOTICE, not a request. Under TX §92.056(e) or FL §83.56(1), the tenant's right to terminate is independent of landlord approval — provided the statutory requirements are met.
Do I have to pay the early termination fee?
Not when invoking the statutory termination right. The early termination fee in your lease applies only to voluntary terminations. The statutory right is independent and not subject to that fee.
What if my landlord starts repairs after I send the notice?
Once the statutory right has matured (notice + reasonable time + no diligent repair), it doesn't un-mature when the landlord later attempts repairs. Document the timeline carefully.
What if the landlord retaliates (eviction, lockout)?
Both states have anti-retaliation statutes (TX §92.331, FL §83.64). Contact a tenant rights attorney immediately. We can refer you in Phase 2.
